While we make some one-off bespoke pieces in London, the majority of our made-to-measure garments are crafted in a small, specialist tailoring atelier in Porto, Portugal. We partnered with the atelier when Knatchbull was founded because we felt its values aligned with ours: quality, craftsmanship and good service.

Quite apart from bringing specialist tailoring knowledge to bear, the workshop is family owned and run, with a small, long-serving staff of craftspeople. Most of the team there specialise in one or two parts of the production process; whether that’s inserting the sleeves on a jacket or giving garments a final steam press into shape before they head out of the door.

All our garments are made using a combination of hand and eye, with traditional processes and reassuringly old fashioned hand-operated machines. You know what they say – if it’s not broken, don’t fix it.
